Virtual Physiotherapy
(available to those located in The Netherlands, Europe or Florida, USA)
How Does Virtual Physiotherapy Work
Online physical therapy is a convenient way to access expert assessment and treatment of neuro-musculo-skeletal disorders from the privacy of your own home or workspace.
Similar to face-to-face examinations, in a virtual assessment we perform functional testing that will -in combination with a thorough interview, allow us to get to the likely source of your complaint.
Based on the outcome of the assessment and in consultation with you we will then design a treatment plan that will get you back in working order in the least amount of time possible.
It is important to note that physiotherapy produces the best results when the client is willing to consistently perform the prescribed exercises and related behavior modifications.
How Can Virtual Physical Therapy Help Me?

Whenever we get hurt, be it during sports, exercise, on the job, a fall or due to an accident, we want to get back on our feet as soon as possible.
Equally important as the primary healing process, is figuring out how and why this injury occurred in the first place so that we can try to prevent it from happening again. Was it due to suboptimal technique when exercising, overtraining, pre-existing weakness or poor coordination, improper workstation set-up, dysfunctional movement- or postural habits, or a balance deficit?
We strive to help you rebuild better than you were before. By addressing the underlying causes, we help you to increase your SOMA-IQ, the knowledge that you have about your own body’s functioning and needs, which will benefit you throughout your life.

Unfortunately, it is sometimes necessary to undergo surgery. Be it for a joint replacement, back surgery, heart surgery or a tendon repair, returning to the fullness of your life will require some work.
At times, the mistake is made to think that after surgery the only thing required is to wait for the tissues to heal, the pain to go away, and you can return to your life. This is almost always incorrect.
After joint replacements, surgical repairs and back surgery, it is crucial to learn the proper techniques to move and perform activities of daily living within the restrictions required for proper healing.
Additionally, and particularly with joint replacements, a guided and healing- phase appropriate exercise program should be implemented as soon as possible and in consultation with your surgeon.
Furthermore, as a rule, people who undergo joint replacements tend to have developed dysfunctional movement patterns over the years that will have to be addressed: the fact that one replaces a joint does not in itself change dysfunctional movement patterns.
In order to prevent other problems down the road, the joint repair should be taken as an opportunity to get back to optimal movement habits.

While most people only consult a therapist after sustaining an injury or developing a more chronic dysfunction, we believe that regular, pro-active "healthy body assessments" pay dividends in spades. It allows you to catch dysfunctional movement and health habits before they lead to breakdown of tissues.
During a Fysio Wellness Check, we discuss your general health, your lifestyle habits, assess your movement patterns, identify any strength, range of motion, coordination or balance deficits. You will receive advice about solutions to address potential problems that were uncovered during your check-up and how to maintain your optimal functional health.
